Terms of Service

LAST UPDATED — 31 JULY 2026

1. Who these terms cover

These terms apply to design and development work carried out by Front Door Studio (“the studio”), an independent practice led by Ivan, for the client named in the written quote. A project begins when the client accepts the quote in writing.

2. Quotes and scope

Every project is quoted in writing before work begins. The quote states what is included: pages or sections, revision rounds, and what is handed over at the end. Work outside the agreed scope—additional pages, new features, extra revision rounds—is quoted separately before it is done. Nothing is added to an invoice without prior agreement.

3. Content and materials

The client provides the text, images and access details agreed at scoping, and confirms they have the right to use them. Typical turnaround begins once these materials are ready; delays in providing them move the timeline accordingly. The studio provides copy direction and photography guidance, but does not write final legal or regulatory content for the client’s industry.

4. Revisions

The number of revision rounds is stated in the quote (for example, two rounds for a one-page website). A revision round is a consolidated set of changes to work already presented. Substantial changes of direction after approval—a new page structure, a different visual direction—are quoted as new work.

5. Payment

The payment schedule is agreed in the written quote before work begins—typically a deposit to book the project, with the balance due before launch. The quote also states the invoicing currency, accepted payment methods and payment period. Care plan fees are billed monthly and can be cancelled at any time with effect from the next billing date.

6. Timelines

Typical turnarounds (7–10 working days for a one-page website, 2–4 weeks for a small business website) are good-faith estimates from the point the agreed materials are ready. They are not guaranteed dates, and delays caused by missing content or slow feedback extend them.

7. Ownership and credit

On full payment, the client owns the completed website: its design, content and the agreed accounts and assets, as set out in the handover. The studio retains the right to describe and show the work in its own portfolio unless the client asks otherwise in writing. Third-party materials (fonts, stock imagery, plugins) remain under their own licences, which are identified in the handover.

8. Third-party services

Websites depend on services the studio does not control—domains, hosting, booking tools, email providers. The studio sets these up carefully and hands over access, but is not responsible for their pricing, availability or policy changes after launch.

9. Aftercare and liability

Defects reported within 30 days of launch are fixed at no charge. Beyond that, support is available through the optional care plan or individual quotes. The studio’s total liability for any project is limited to the fees paid for that project; nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

10. Governing law

The governing law and jurisdiction for each project are stated in its written quote and confirmed with the client before work begins.
